This is a very good quality piano made by Yamaha in Japan in 1983, with only one previous owner who has looked after it very well indeed. Suitable for any level of player, it has had fairly light use but tuned twice a year and has now been very carefully prepared by oursleves to be at its best. Yamaha pianos are renowned for their robust build quality, fast and smooth actions and clear, bright tone. The P2 is 116cm tall, so is a little smaller than their benchmark U1 model, yet offers a very similar playing experience and is a good alternative at a lower price point. 

Tone and tuning 
 
This piano has a lovely tone with Yamaha’s renowned clarity without sounding at all harsh, nice and even throughout the registers and a very good dynamic range. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). 
 
 
Keyboard and action 

The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has been regulated to play smoothly across the whole keyboard with a light to medium weight action, which will suit any level of pianist. Yamaha’s piano actions are well loved for being fast and resposnive under the fingers and this certainly lives up to that reputation.


Hammers and strings 

Strings in excellent condition and not much wear at all in the hammers, see photos.


Sound board 

Excellent condition, no cracks or splits. 


Case 

The walnut gloss cabinet is in excellent condition throughout - this piano has been very well cared for. Adjustable stool as in photos is included in the sale.
