This is a superb, awe inspiring instrument from one of the most highly regarded manufacturers in the world. At 7 ft in length it is large and powerful enough to deliver the full grand piano experience for players and listeners, but will also fit in many homes. The Yamaha C6 is also ideally suited to medium sized concert venues and will satisfy even the most demanding of players, with its rich and bold tone and superb fast and responsive action. This piano has been very well looked after by the previous owners, who purchased it new in 2004. We have thoroughly checked it throughout, cleaned, polished, tuned, regulated and voiced it.
 
Tone and tuning 
 
Impressive tone that is bold, powerful, rich and crystal clear, with a great range of tones available. This is probably the best Yamaha piano we have ever had at Berries Barn Pianos. The most common criticism of Yamaha pianos is that they are ’too bright sounding’ but this piano has a lovely warmth when played softly accompanied by a crystal clear bell like tone when the keys are struck at higher speed. The bass section is very deep and powerful as you would expect from a piano of this size and the dynamic range is very wide indeed, making this piano ideal for advanced level study. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). 
 
 
Keyboard and action 
 
The full size 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition. The sharps are real ebony and the white keys are Ivorite, which feel great under the fingers. The keys are significantly longer on a piano of this size, compared to the C3 for example, so the player has even greater control over what goes on at the hammer end! This is suitable for all levels of pianist.
 
Hammers and strings 
 
Hammers have only very slight wear and the strings are in great condition also - see photos. 
 
 
Sound board 
 
Excellent condition solid spruce.
 
 
Case
 
Stunning black polyester gloss case. In excellent condition throughout - we have repolished the whole case to restore its shine and it looks fantastic. There is the odd tiny blemish, consitent with the pianos age, but these are hardly noticeable. Brand new matching adjustable stool included in the sale.
