This is a superb quality upright piano made in 2003 in England by Welmar, one of the finest British piano makers. Welmar had bought out Marshall and Rose in 1932 but continued to use the name due their excellent reputation. Fully reconditioned inside and out, this is a stunning looking and sounding piano suitable for all levels up to advanced or professional pianists. We absolutely love these pianos - they are very highly regarded for their tonal quality and smooth actions and are popular with musicians and teachers. They worked very closely with Bluthner over the years, whose influence can definitely be heard. 
 
Tone and tuning
 
Lovely rich yet mellow classic ‘European’ tone with the ideal balance between brightness and warmth, and a very good dynamic range. Excellent bass for a piano of this size and the treble is clear and bell like. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). Features a 3rd ‘mute’ pedal for quiet practice. This piano must be heard to appreciate its quality.
 
Keyboard and action
 
The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the renowned Langer 100 action is very responsive and plays smoothly across the whole keyboard, with a medium weight.
 
Hammers and strings
 
The German made Abel hammers are in very good condition indeed - this piano was very much loved by the previous owners but it has not been played heavily. It has been tuned regularly through the years. Strings in excellent condition - almost as new.

Excellent condition spruce, with no cracks or splits
 
Case
 
In excellent condition throughout - stylish walnut case with a satin finish. Matching stool is included in the price.
