This is a very high quality piano at an unbelievable price, with powerful and rich tone and very responsive touch - very impressive all round for a small sized piano. Only lightly used since new and in excellent condition throughout. Kawai are Japan’s 2nd largest piano manufacturer after Yamaha, both companies make some superb pianos but the most recent innovations in design seem to be coming from Kawai and some musicians prefer the slightly warmer tone of Kawai. The K series are very highly regarded, winning many prestigious awards. The K-15 is the smallest in the range but packs quite a punch and outperforms many larger pianos. This would suit any level of pianist from beginner to professional.
Tone and tuning
Lovely rich and warm tone, with a little pleasant brightness and a large dynamic range - plenty of power for fortissimo passages! Very good bass for a small upright piano and the treble is clear and bell like. Nicely balanced tone throughout the registers. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
Keyboard and action
The K-15E features the exclusive Ultra-Responsive™ direct blow action, with selected hardwood hammer shanks and 100% wool felt hammer heads, providing an extraordinarily good touch and feel. The action uses some ABS-Carbon components, designed to be stiff but light, as well as more traditional handcrafted wooden parts, making the piano’s touch very responsive and with fast repetition. The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has been regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard, with a medium weight to suit all abilities.
Hammers and strings
Very little wear in the hammer felts and the strings are also in superb condition (see photos).
Sound board
As new condition, no cracks or splits.
Case
Very smart black gloss case in excellent condition throughout - looks stunning and will complement most styles of decor. Matching adjustable stool included in the sale.
